BLE Commissioning

Every BRIGHTBLU Jolt charger can be configured locally over Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) using the BRIGHTBLU installer app — no internet connection required. This is how a charger is commissioned in the field before (or without) a network link, and how key settings are changed on site.

This page describes what you can do over BLE. Programmatic API access (for partners building their own app) is available on request — see API access.

  • WiFi provisioning — set the WiFi network the charger should join.
  • OCPP server — set the OCPP 1.6J central-system URL and the charger identity, so the unit connects to your CSMS.
  • OCPP version — select the OCPP profile the charger should use.
  • Start / stop a session — begin or end a charge from the app.
  • Maximum current — set the charging current limit (within the model’s rated range).
  • Free (plug-and-play) mode — enable or disable authorization-free charging.
  • RFID cards — add or remove authorized RFID cards held on the charger.
  • Schedules — add or remove local charging schedules.
  • App access — set the local access credentials used to protect on-site configuration.
  • Read the charger’s live status, connectivity state, firmware version, and current configuration.
  1. Open the BRIGHTBLU app and connect to the charger.
  2. Provision WiFi (or confirm the SIM link, on SIM-equipped models).
  3. Set the OCPP server URL and charger ID for your CSMS.
  4. Set the maximum current for the installation.
  5. Add any local RFID cards / schedules as needed.
  6. Confirm the charger reports Available and connects to your backend.
